Make the right decisions before construction begins

NEW POOL CONSTRUCTION

Make the right decisions before construction begins

A new pool is easier to build when its use, shape, depth, water colour, features and finish are planned as one complete project.

Start with the complete picture

Explore pool styles and collect images before meeting a builder. Include the shapes, water colours, special features and outdoor settings you like. A clear inspiration collection helps the design team understand your priorities and lets you ask better questions from the beginning.

The six-step new-pool buyer guide

  1. 1

    Collect inspiration

Save examples of shapes, water colours and features so your goals are easy to communicate.

  2. 2

Define how the pool will be used

Plan for relaxation, exercise, entertaining, children or a combination of uses.

  3. 3

    Plan position and depth

Consider sun, privacy, access, landscaping, steps, shelves and the deepest area.

  4. 4

    Choose water colour and finish

Compare colour at real depths and in real light, then specify the exact brand and colour.

  5. 5

Set the budget and select the team

Separate must-haves from optional extras and review the builder's work, references and experience.

  6. 6

    Confirm drawings and specifications

Check dimensions, depth elevations, systems, equipment, materials, electrical work and every detail before signing.

NEW POOL PLANNING

Questions to answer before you meet a pool builder

Open each topic to clarify your requirements before design and pricing begin.

What pool shape best fits your needs?

Geometric pools suit classic or contemporary settings and work well for laps and games. Free-form pools feel more natural and pair well with waterfalls or boulders. The right shape should support both the architecture and the way the pool will be used.

How will the pool be used?

Decide whether the pool is mainly for relaxation, exercise, entertaining, visual impact or children's play. Also consider whether it needs to support diving, casual play or lap swimming, because this changes the dimensions, depths, entries and systems.

Which water colour do you prefer?

Water colour is influenced by the finish, depth, sun exposure, shade and surrounding vegetation. Compare deep dark blue, dark blue, medium blue, light blue, teal and green using real pool photography—not only a dry material sample.

What type of interior finish should you choose?

Plaster, quartz and pebble finishes have different appearance and performance characteristics. Premium aggregate finishes are chosen for beauty and longevity. If you want genuine PebbleTec, put the exact product family and colour in the written specification and contract.

When should special features be planned?

Plan waterfalls, diving boards, sun shelves, slides, grottos, lighting, sound, safety equipment, cabanas and weather enclosures during the initial design. Retrofitting these features later can be difficult and expensive.

Where should the pool sit on the site?

Review daily sun patterns, the preferred entrance, privacy, views, drainage and any existing landscaping or structures. Good placement improves both usability and the experience of the whole outdoor space.

How should you budget and select a builder?

Set the maximum investment and list the must-haves before meeting builders. Review their websites, completed work, customer feedback and showrooms. For a genuine PebbleTec pool, select a builder or authorised applicator experienced with the system.

What should the drawings and specifications include?

Drawings should show exact dimensions, depth elevations, steps, special features and the pool's position. Specifications should name the finish brand and colour, equipment models, plumbing and electrical details, feature sizes and quantities, plus decking or landscaping included in the scope.

The PebbleTec network worldwide

Rulantica: good cooperation with EuroPebbleTec

Rulantica, the new water world of Europa-Park, opened in 2019 and was a success from day one, offering a wide range of attractions and pools. Working with EuroPebbleTec on the Rulantica pools was extremely beneficial. Careful planning, on-time delivery and consistent quality helped us protect the programme and budget. Their flexibility also allowed the team to respond to unplanned moments during construction. We look forward to continuing the relationship on future projects and can recommend EuroPebbleTec to other projects at any time.
