Our process

PebbleTec installation

Across the globe, we’re proud of our award-winning PebbleTec pools. These are the six steps behind every one of them.

Applied only by an authorised applicator

Your PebbleTec pool finish will be expertly applied only by a PTI-trained, authorised applicator who will provide you with the most robust installation workmanship warranty in the industry. Paradise Pool Interiors is the sole licensed PebbleTec applicator in Thailand. From stripping the old surface and preparing the shell to mixing, spraying, trowelling and detailing, every stage is carried out by our own crew.

The PebbleTec finish installation process

  1. 1

    Mixing the batch formula

Our unique stone blends are mixed with cement, water, pigment and proprietary additives to create your interior pool finish. PebbleTec authorised applicators follow a specific formula to produce a well-blended material ready for installation.

  2. 2

    Smooth spray application

The mixed material is then pumped through a hose, and pneumatically applied with a sprayer that is specifically designed to provide even coverage of the finish material in your pool.

  3. 3

    Hand trowelling

Immediately following the spray application, your expert installer hand-trowels the material to create a more compacted surface in preparation for exposure. Often, the applicators wear special shoes with spikes to protect the finish.

  4. 4

    Exposing the finish

After the product has been trowelled, and depending on the finish, the pool is sprayed or wiped with water to expose the pebbles and/or glass beads, and to remove excess cement.

  5. 5

    Detailing the finish

After a hardening period, your PebbleTec pool finish will be pressure washed and detailed using a special acid solution to remove any residue or film. For certain finishes, the surface is also lightly buffed during the cleansing treatment to polish the stones. These treatments enhance the natural beauty of the finish.

  6. 6

    Completion

Once your pebble pool finish installation process is complete, fill the pool with water, reference your pool care instructions, balance the chemicals and begin swimming!

Every pool is a little different

The application process and sequence may vary slightly based on the type of finish you select, your location, certain weather conditions and the authorised applicator installing the pool finish. Some finishes are exposed with a water spray, others are wiped, and some are lightly buffed during cleansing to polish the stones. We walk you through the exact sequence for your pool and finish before work begins.

Caring for your new finish

A summary of PTI’s start-up guidance; register your finish to receive the full protection plan.

How often should I brush?

Three times a day for the first three days, then twice a day for the next ten, with a nylon-bristled brush, working the walls and floor toward the main drain. After that, about once a week depending on dust and debris.

When can I turn on the heater?

Wait at least 14 days. Changing the water temperature drastically on an uncured finish can cause “hydration”, leaving the surface splotchy. Monitor the chemical balance more closely once the heater is on.

Can I fill the pool with soft water?

Not at first. Softened water can leach calcium from the pool walls and grout; it may only be used after the finish has cured.

When can I judge the colour?

After the initial cure of about 30 days. Water colour also depends on depth, sun, lighting, landscaping, decking and water chemistry, so a sample or photo may not match your pool exactly.
